Elections are to be held for Town and Parish Councils this year, alongside the election of Unitary Councillors (Sherston for our area) and the Police and Crime Commissioner (for the Wiltshire Police Area).
For Luckington and Alderton Parish Council, there are seven spaces. If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 6th May. If seven or less candidates stand, they will be elected unopposed without a poll. Nomination papers can be obtained from the Electoral Commission website here, along with guidance and information about the process here. Papers can also be obtained from the reception of the Wiltshire Council Offices at Monkton Park, Chippenham, or by phoning Wiltshire electoral services on 0300 456 0112. Nomination papers must be hand delivered to the Council Offices at Monkton Park (SN15 1ER) before 4pm on Thursday 8th April 2021. Due to COVID restrictions, there is a booking process for delivering papers: to book, please visit the Wiltshire Council website here (scroll down to 'Appointments'), or phone the number above. The next meeting of the LAPC will be held on Wednesday 10th March at 7.30pm by Zoom Meetings. If any resident of Luckington or Alderton wishes to attend the meeting, they should contact the clerk to request access to the meeting by 7.30pm on Tuesday 9th of March. The agenda for this meeting can be found here.
