Planning Applications: recent responses

LAPC decision in regards to 2 previous planning applications listed below on the 25th June was 'no objections': PL/2021/04756- Brookend Farm, Brook End; and PL/2021/05247- YEW TREE COTTAGE, CHAPEL ROW, LUCKINGTON.

LAPC decision in regards to the application
PL/2021/05009- PALM COURT, SOPWORTH LANE, LUCKINGTON was 'object'. The following comment was also returned:
The Council strongly object to this application, considering the additional storey to the existing bungalow wholly inappropriate primarily in regards to overlooking neighbouring properties - the privacy of back gardens and rooms would be severely impinged. Further, the proposed works represent a significant over-development which is out of keeping with other properties in the area, with anticipated additional occupants/vehicles putting a considerable strain on available space in the lane.

Two items of correspondence in regards to this application were received prior to the 5th July 2021, details of which are published below:

From I & S Pegg: 'We object to this planning application on the grounds of privacy. The five dormer windows will directly overlook our garden. The bungalow is only a few feet away from our boundary and will seriously impinge on not only our privacy, but that of our neighbour’s, as it will overlook the majority of gardens in Northend. The original planning permission was granted for a bungalow consisting of three bedrooms, not a six/seven bedroom house! (There are two study rooms on the plans one on each floor) Mr Palmer told us when applying for the original planning permission that this would be a small bungalow! As there could be a lot more people living at this property there may be an adverse effect on highway safety and traffic as there is no pavement, it’s a narrow road and there are no street lights. Sopworth Road is already busy with traffic accessing the industrial units at the top of Northend.'

From J White & D Ewings: '
We are writing to express our personal concerns about the above planning application. The proposed 5 dormer windows in this property would substantially affect our privacy as they would directly look over our back garden, and straight into our master bedroom and bathroom.'
